Tr**p ruins and corrupts everything he touches, and on Monday night, he demonstrated his dastardly talents once again.
Heading into Game 3 of the NBA Finals, the Knicks were riding streaks that only a few teams could match.
It was the first NBA Finals game at MSG in 27 years.
The Knicks were on a 13 game winning streak and hadn’t lost since April 23rd when they lost to the Hawks, 109-108, in Game 3 of their first round series.
Even more importantly and impressively, the Knicks run to the Finals has united the city and brought fans together at watch parties in the city and across the country.
But then, thanks to an invitation from team owner James Dolan, the streak and good vibes all died.
When it was revealed that Tr**p would be attending Game 3, the city canceled the watch party outside of the Garden and closed businesses in the surrounding blocks, including bars that have been reaping financial benefits from the Knicks playoff run. His appearance also caused massive lines for ticket holders waiting to enter the Garden before the game.
Then, during an amazing performance of the National Anthem by Broadway actor Avery Wilson, the Garden put Tr**p on the big screen and the deafening, yet fully righteous and well deserving boos, drowned out Wilson’s powerful voice.
From there, it was a night most predicted would happen once Tr**p revealed he would be in attendance.
The Knicks came out flat and were down 11 at the end of the first quarter. And although they were leading by 7 at the half, they continued to turn the ball over, failed to make stops, generated a stagnant offense and seemed to be whistled for fouls on almost every play in the 4Q, ultimately losing to the Spurs 115-111.
And all of this happened while Tr**p fell asleep in his seat next to Dolan.
It’s yet another example of how this horrid individual continues to ruin and corrupt everything he touches.
Real New Yorkers know what he did to people, companies, and workers in New York before he became president, and they hate him for it.
From asking for the death penalty for the innocent Central Park Five and refusing to pay labor for their work on his construction projects to bankrupting multiple companies he owned, the orange one has destroyed more businesses and lives than you could imagine.
And his touch of destruction has now reached the world of sports.
Not only did he cause the Knicks to lose and suck the good energy out of MSG and the city in one night, but his hate has destroyed what should have been an exciting time leading up to the start of the World Cup later this werk.
Instead of joy and excitement, his foolish and unnecessary attack on Iran and his racist and discriminatory policies have marred the period of shine for the Beautiful Game.
First, the Iranian team was vilified and embarrassed with having visas delayed for some players and coaches and their training site moved from Tucson to Mexico. Their striker, Aymen Hussein, was held and questioned for several hours once arriving at O’Hare Airport in Chicago.
Then the team’s photographer was denied entry to the U.S.
“National team photographer Talal Salah was held for more than 10 hours, underwent similar phone checks, and was ultimately denied entry into the United States,” said an Iraqi official.
Next, well respected Somalian soccer referee Omar Artan was barred from entering the U.S. after arriving in Miami and ultimately dropped from the FIFA World Cup officiating roster. It’s no coincidence that Artan hails from the same country that Tr**p has constantly degraded and insulted.
These incidents come months after many Haitian fans were barred from attending the World Cup in the U.S. because Tr**p added Haiti to his travel ban list, preventing them from supporting the team’s only second World Cup appearance.
When you add these events to the threat of having ICE at World Cup matches and the uproar over FIFA’s ticketing scandal and other stadium policies, you have more examples of how this corrupt and evil orange scourge of hate is ruining sports and lives.
And don’t think that any sport is immune to his spite.
He fanned the flames of hate over Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show and has his grimy hands intertwined in the attempts to regulate college athletics. And with the contract discussions just starting to heat up in MLB, don’t think that he won’t try to get involved in some way there too.
Now, let’s just hope he stays away from MSG for Game 4.
