After Sunday night, he ranks second only behind Jerry Rice (22) for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/leaders\/rec_td_career_playoffs.htm\">all-time postseason TD receptions<\/a> with 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, Andy Reid is definitely one of the greatest coaches the game has seen. He and Eric Beiniemy put on a second-half clinic on Sunday night, scoring on every possession in the last two quarters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And yes, Patrick Mahomes is well on his way to becoming one of the greats on the Mount Rushmore of NFL quarterbacks. After the Chiefs&#8217; Super Bowl LVII victory, Mahomes now has two Super Bowl wins, two Super Bowl MVPs and two league MVPs. Mahomes ignored the pain to go 21-27 for 182 yards and 3 TDs. He also added 44 yards rushing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/firstandpen.com\/staging\/5861\/why-are-people-still-doubting-jalen-hurts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">His opponent, however, has been doubted forever.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jalen Hurts was doubted after he was benched in favor of Tua Tagoviola in the CFP Championship Game.<\/p><div id=\"first-583038788\" class=\"first-content first-entity-placement\"><!-- \/22950135888\/FAP_Article_Leaderboard_Instream2 -->\r\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1700413625220-0' style='min-width: 300px; min-height: 90px;'>\r\n  <script>\r\n    googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1700413625220-0'); });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was doubted after transferring to Oklahoma for his senior year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/firstandpen.com\/staging\/5861\/the-jalen-hurts-haters-are-playing-themselves-like-they-did-with-donovan-mcnabb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">He was doubted when the Eagles drafted him<\/a> and was doubted again this past season despite going 16-1 in games he started. He was also leading the MVP race before missing two games due to injury, and even then <a href=\"https:\/\/firstandpen.com\/staging\/5861\/injury-aside-some-just-dont-want-to-name-eagles-jalen-hurts-mvp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many doubted he was MVP-worthy<\/a>, attributing his success to the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well tonight, Jalen Hurts officially silenced all of those foolish enough to doubt him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hurts had proved them wrong before though, but haters refused to acknowledge it.<\/p><div id=\"first-2067908756\" class=\"first-content_2 first-entity-placement\"><!-- \/22950135888\/FAP_Article_Leaderboard_Instream3 -->\r\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1700413989195-0' style='min-width: 300px; min-height: 90px;'>\r\n  <script>\r\n    googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1700413989195-0'); });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He came off the bench to win the SEC Championship Game after Tua was hurt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He led Oklahoma to the CFP Playoffs and finished second behind Joe Burrow in the 2019 Heisman vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His potential convinced the Eagles to trade Carson Wentz and <a href=\"https:\/\/firstandpen.com\/staging\/5861\/in-trading-for-aj-brown-the-eagles-gave-jalen-hurts-what-he-deserves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acquire star receiver A.J. He also rushed for 61 yards and led the Eagles to a 24-14 halftime lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overall, Hurts threw for 304 yards on 27-38 passing. He also accounted for 4 total TDs (1 passing, 3 rushing). Even with a costly fumble, Hurts had a much better game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Super Bowl LVII held extreme significance because <a href=\"https:\/\/firstandpen.com\/staging\/5861\/eddie-robinsons-vision-opened-the-door-for-patrick-mahomes-jalen-hurts-in-super-bowl-lvii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">it featured two Black starting quarterbacks<\/a>.
