According to Rolling Stone<\/a>, Curry is close to finalizing a new deal with Under Armour that will be worth more than $1 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe game’s greatest shooter of all time joined the brand back in 2013 after leaving Nike. While it hasn’t always been smooth sailing between the two, Curry and UA founder Kevin Plank have righted the wrongs that hampered the relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That has put the two parties in the position to sign this historic deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t have to raise my voice to get mad,\u201d Curry told\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/em>\u00a0of the discussions with Plank. \u201cThat\u2019s the best part about it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\nCurry continues to dominate on the court, but he’s expanded his portfolio off of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the most notable partnerships he’s fostered is with HBCU institution Howard University, where Curry stepped up to fund the launch of the university’s golf program and got Under Armour to come on board as a team sponsor. A few months later, he participated in a fundraiser for the program, helping to raise $3 million for the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ironically, because of Curry, Under Armour is the only other apparel\/footwear sponsor for the Howard Bison. Earlier this year, Jordan Brand signed a deal with Howard Athletics, but that doesn’t include golf.<\/p>
