A&amp;M bought every player on their team \u2014 made a deal for name, image, likeness. We didn\u2019t buy one player, all right? But I don\u2019t know if we\u2019re gonna be able to sustain that in the future because more and more people are doing it. It\u2019s tough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This morning, Jimbo Fisher retaliated against Saban&#8217;s unprovoked, inappropriate, inflammatory and backstabbing remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Texas A&amp;M HC Jimbo Fisher just fired back at Nick Saban for saying they &quot;bought&quot; recruits.<br><br>Fisher calls Saban a &quot;narcissist&quot; and says he won&#39;t take his call. <br><br>&quot;We built him up to be this czar of football. Some people think they\u2019re God. Go dig into how \u2018God\u2019 did his deal,&#8221; said Fisher. &#8220;You may find out about a lot of things you don\u2019t want to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe build him up to be the czar of football. Go dig into his past or anybody that\u2019s ever coached with him. You can find out anything you want to find out, what he does and how he does it. It\u2019s despicable; it really is.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saban then turned his attention to Deion Sanders and Jackson State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJackson State&nbsp;paid a guy $1 million last year that was a really good Division I player to come to the school. It was in the paper, and they bragged about it. Nobody did anything about it&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This evening, <a href=\"https:\/\/firstandpen.com\/staging\/5861\/?s=deion+sanders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deion Sanders<\/a> issued his response.<\/p><div id=\"first-5155875\" class=\"first-content first-entity-placement\"><!-- \/22950135888\/FAP_Article_Leaderboard_Instream2 -->\r\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1700413625220-0' style='min-width: 300px; min-height: 90px;'>\r\n  <script>\r\n    googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1700413625220-0'); });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sanders, <a href=\"https:\/\/andscape.com\/features\/deion-sanders-responds-to-nick-sabans-comments-about-jackson-state\/\">in an interview with Andscape<\/a>, clapped back at Saban&#8217;s accusation that Jackson State paid star recruit Travis Hunter $1 million to play for the Tigers instead of the Florida State Seminoles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI haven\u2019t talked to Coach Saban. I\u2019m sure he\u2019s tried to call. We need to talk publicly \u2014 not privately. What you said was public. That doesn\u2019t require a conversation. Let\u2019s talk publicly and let everybody hear the conversation,\u201d said Sanders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou can\u2019t do that publicly and call privately. No, no, no. I still love him. I admire him. I respect him. He\u2019s the magna cum laude of college football and that\u2019s what it\u2019s going to be because he\u2019s earned that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut he took a left when he should\u2019ve stayed right. I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll get back on course. I ain\u2019t tripping.\u201d<\/p><div id=\"first-2998549784\" class=\"first-content_2 first-entity-placement\"><!-- \/22950135888\/FAP_Article_Leaderboard_Instream3 -->\r\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1700413989195-0' style='min-width: 300px; min-height: 90px;'>\r\n  <script>\r\n    googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1700413989195-0'); });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saban said he tried to reach out to both coaches but neither have responded, and rightfully so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fisher and Saban have history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They were both at LSU together and last year Fisher&#8217;s Texas A&amp;M squad handed Alabama their first loss of the season as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Knowing coach Saban, he&#8217;s still seething over the loss.<\/p><div id=\"first-1264304284\" class=\"first-content_3 first-entity-placement\"><!-- \/22950135888\/FAP_Article_Leaderboard_Instream4 -->\r\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1700414036595-0' style='min-width: 300px; min-height: 90px;'>\r\n  <script>\r\n    googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1700414036595-0'); });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sanders and Saban are also connected, particularly through the Aflac commercials they jointly star in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Saban drew first blood and instigated a beef that never existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Needless to say, Sanders isn&#8217;t one to play with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI don\u2019t even wear a watch and I know what time it is. They forget I know who\u2019s been bringing the bag and dropping it off,\u201d said Sanders. \u201cI know this stuff. I\u2019m not the one you want to play with when it comes to all of this stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sanders and Hunter <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DeionSanders\/status\/1527303966287048709\">shared a laugh earlier today on Twitter<\/a> about the $1 million Sanders supposedly paid him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mind you, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarionledger.com\/story\/sports\/college\/jackson-state\/2020\/10\/16\/deion-sanders-contract-details-jackson-state-revealed\/3686049001\/\">Sanders signed a four-year, $1.2 million deal to coach the Tigers<\/a>, so even he doesn&#8217;t even make $1 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And he&#8217;s the head coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI don\u2019t make a million. Travis ain\u2019t built like that. Travis ain\u2019t chasing a dollar. Travis is chasing greatness. Travis and his family don\u2019t get down like that,\u201d said Sanders. \u201cThey never came to us in search of the bag. They\u2019re not built like that. This kid wants to be great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe wants to be that dude.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sanders is building something special at Jackson St., and other programs across the college football landscape are taking notice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s why Tennessee State signed <a href=\"https:\/\/firstandpen.com\/staging\/5861\/tag\/eddie-george\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eddie George<\/a> and Grambling brought <a href=\"https:\/\/firstandpen.com\/staging\/5861\/?s=hue+jackson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hue Jackson<\/a> on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that&#8217;s why college football traditionalists were so incensed when Sanders signed not one but two top recruits to play at Jackson St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While he&#8217;s capturing attention, the financial rewards haven&#8217;t caught up as of yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That makes Saban&#8217;s accusation even more ridiculous. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOnce upon a time the bag was just a bag. Now, there\u2019s equality among the big boys. We don\u2019t have those types of bags. We don\u2019t have the boosters and donors and givers,\u201d Sanders said. \u201cLeave me out of that mess y\u2019all got going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sanders is taking the whole incident in stride, but he let Saban know the line is there, so don&#8217;t cross it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCoach Saban wasn\u2019t talking to me. Coach Saban wasn\u2019t talking to Jimbo Fisher. He was talking to his boosters. He was talking to his alumni. He was talking to his givers. He was trying to get money,\u201d Sanders said. \u201cThat was what he was doing.
