Allyson Felix needs no introduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is the most decorated track and field Olympian in history. She’s about to be a five-time Olympian<\/a> (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020) and has nine Olympic medals (6 Gold, 3 Silver). Her World Championship resume is just as impressive with 18 total medals (13 Gold, 3 Silver, 2 Bronze). She medaled in the 200m, 400m, 4x100m, and 4x400m and hopes to add another one in Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to her Olympic pursuits, Felix is a wife and mom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Felix’s fight with Nike during her pregnancy is well documented. In 2019, she claimed that Nike punished her and other pregnant athletes. She took the fight all the way to Congress and became an advocate for maternal health, particularly Black maternal health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And she refused to back down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNike sometimes, they feel like you don\u2019t have another option,\u201d said Felix in an interview with\u00a0The New York Times<\/em><\/a>. \u201cSo they can get away with stuff like that because, where are you going to go? And I think that\u2019s how I was always perceived: \u2018She\u2019s never going to say anything. She\u2019s never going to speak out.’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She was fearless in her scrap with Nike, never relenting in her pursuit of quality maternal care and protection. She parted ways with the brand and signed with Athleta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Now she and Athleta are continuing her quest for maternal health.<\/p>
