LeBron James and SpringHill Company CEO Maverick Carter continues to proves the doubters wrong and they just did it again by securing a major investment that pushed the company’s valuation to $725 million.

Once told they “wouldn’t be able to accomplish anything or get things done,” Carter and James are not just getting things done, they’re getting BIG things done.

Their latest accomplishment saw them secure a major investment from a combination of RedBird Capital Partners, Nike, Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and Epic Games that pushed the valuation of the company to $725 million. Current stakeholder UC investments upped its stake, but James and Carter maintain their controlling stake in the company.

Flush with cash, SpringHill will diversify into various sectors including gaming, businesses, intellectual property, content creators, and investments outside of the country.

This is the second major investment secured by SpringHill. Last June it raised $100 million from a variety of partners and added new faces to its board including Serena Williams and the Boston Red Sox.

Most importantly, the company continues to open doors and inspire those seeking to live their dreams like the kids from Akron.

“We’ve always felt the sense of responsibility to each other. … We feel a responsibility to the kids and the people – black guys — who come behind us, who have to fill the shoes and follow the path that we lead,” said Carter.
