Joy Taylor is back on the airwaves, this time with Urban One to launch her new sports commentary series The Daily Play with Joy Taylor.

The show will focus on short-form commentary and will be distributed across the company’s audio platforms including Radio One, REACH Media and the Urban One Podcast Network.

“I wanted to create something fast, focused, and always authentic,” said Taylor, host of The Daily Play. “Sports fans are busy, but they want the context behind the conversation. With The Daily Play, I’m giving them what it means and what to watch next—in just a few minutes. Joining Urban One allows me to talk directly to a loyal, engaged audience across the country. I’m excited to get back to my radio roots!”

Taylor had previously spent almost 10 years with Fox Sports, first on The Herd with Colin Cowherd and later hosting Undisputed and then Speak.

But then she became embroiled in a scandal at the company where she was accused of having relationships with Fox Sports executive Charlie Dixon and co-host Emmanuel Acho to advance her career. She denied the accusations and she left the company after it ended multiple shows, including Speak, and let numerous on air talent go including Keyshawn Johnson, Acho and Taylor.

While she remained active on social media, made appearances at different events and hosted her own podcast, Two Personal, she wasn’t involved in everyday sports coverage like she used to be.

But now that’s changed, and Taylor’s voice will be heard daily across Urban One platforms.

“We aren’t just launching a podcast; we are bringing one of the most insightful voices in sports to a national stage,” said Dre Smith, Sr. Director, Podcast Operations. “Joy’s addition represents a shift in how we deliver daily sports content. She has an unmatched ability to connect culture and competition, and by integrating Joy across Urban One’s audio ecosystem, we are making The Daily Play an essential part of the sports fan’s daily routine.”

Welcome back Joy!
