On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles must be the most prepared they’ve been all season to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
Both teams played extremely well this season, and dominated the competition basically from start to finish, giving fans the two best two teams in the season’s biggest game.
Philadelphia finished 14-3 this season. After the bye week, the Eagles won 12 of their final 13 games to finish the regular season. The 14 wins tied the franchise record set in 2022. Most importantly, those wins helped Philly make it to the Super Bowl twice in three years.
The Chiefs finished 15-2 and sat at the top of the AFC conference all season. At Super Bowl LIX, Patrick Mahomes will make his fifth Super Bowl appearance in his eight-year career.
The Eagles are deemed as having the best team in the league on paper. From top to bottom, their roster is loaded with talent and experience.
If the Eagles want to win a second Super Bowl, it must be now. They’ve made too many acquisitions and roster moves not to win it all this season.
And their best acquisition, NFL Offensive Player of the Year and NFL rushing champion, Saquon Barkley, is the biggest reason why they can and should win it all.
This is a must-win for Philadelphia for a few reasons.
First, they don’t want to be the team that puts the Chiefs in the NFL record books with the first three-peat in NFL history.
Second, in today’s NFL, where salary cap challenges and injury issues always creep up, the Eagles roster is ready to win it all. For them to lose, it would feel like a failed season.
When you have talent like Barkley, Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Jalen Carter, and more, you can’t afford to waste it.
While the Chiefs have many reasons why they should win it, including history, it feels like the Eagles must win it this season.
On Sunday night, we’ll see if that happens.
