Deion Sanders said he was building something special at Colorado, and that includes working with champions who played and understand the game.

Last year, Coach Prime, a Hall of Famer himself, added fellow yellow jacket brother Warren Sapp to his staff as a senior quality assistant for the defense, and now he’s adding Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk to the staff as the new running backs coach for the Buffaloes.

Faulk is one of the best running backs in history.

Over his 12-year career with the Colts (5) and Rams (7), Faulk rushed for 12,279 yards, ranking him 12th on the all-time rushing list. He was also a 6x All-Pro, 7x Pro Bowler, an MVP winner (2000) and won Super Bowl XXXIV.

Now he’s headed to Colorado to join two fellow Hall of Famers and take his first coaching job.

“Deion is an elevator,” said Faulk in an interview with Front Office Sports. “He’s going to elevate you as a person, and he’s going to force you to elevate your life. That’s what he does. He lifts people up. A lot of the times the light may look like it’s shining on him, but really he’s shining the light on somebody.

“We’re good friends. And whatever I can do to help him out I’m going to do.”
