Frank Thomas, aka “The Big Hurt”, just made his presence felt in Iowa.

The 5x MLB All-Star and 2x MVP bought All-Star Ballpark Heaven and the iconic Field of Dreams movie site.

According to the Des Moines Register, a group headed by Hall of Famer Frank Thomas purchase a controlling interest in the property owned by Go the Distance Baseball LLC.

Thomas will be the CEO and Dan Evans, the former GM of the Dodgers, will be the COO.

“We are excited to lead the future development and expansion of the Field of Dreams in a collaborative spirit with our neighbors and government officials,” said Thomas in a press release.

This past September, MLB hosted a heavily promoted match-up between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees at the field made famous by the 1989 film starring Kevin Costner.

Tim Anderson hit a game-winning, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Yankees, 9-8, in a thriller that delivered huge ratings for Fox Sports.

Now The Big Hurt, 53, and his company, This is Heaven LLC, will own and run the field located in Dyersville, Iowa and prepare for next year’s game between the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.
