Things haven’t gone right for Auburn football this season, but maybe Carnell “Cadillac” Williams can help right the ship for the Tigers.

According to Nubyjas Wilborn of AL.com, Williams, the much-loved Auburn alum and star member of its undefeated 2004 team, has been elevated from running backs coach to interim head coach after former head coach Bryan Harsin was let go.

The former All-American was the NFL Rookie of the Year in 2005 and played in the league for seven years before making the move into coaching.

In 2015, he began his coaching career as the running backs coach at Henderson State. He then moved around at the high school, college and pro levels before returning to his Alma mater three years ago.

With four games remaining, including the Iron Bowl, Williams looks to resurrect some of the magic from his playing days with the Tigers in the hopes of finishing strong this season.
