Hip-hop fans, your prayers have been answered and your frustrations have been quelled.

Hip-hop will finally represent at the Super Bowl.

Today it was revealed that the Halftime show will feature hip-hop royalty- Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar.

The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime show, assembled by the NFL, Roc Nation and Pepsi, will be legendary.

Not only will it be in LA at SoFi Stadium, hometown to Dre and Kendrick, but it will also mark the first time that all five icons will have performed together on the same stage.

“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” said Dr. Dre. “I’m grateful to Jay-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”

Jay-Z continues to make big moves, and finally getting hip hop its just due on the biggest sporting stage of the year is another move to add to his list.

“On February 13, 2022, at the Super Bowl LVI in Inglewood, CA, in the new SoFi Stadium, Dr. Dre, a musical visionary from Compton, Snoop Dogg, an icon from Long Beach and Kendrick Lamar, a young musical pioneer in his own right, also from Compton, will take center field for a performance of a lifetime, said Jay-Z. “They will be joined by the lyrical genius, Eminem and the timeless Queen, Mary J. Blige. This is the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. This is history in the making.”

This is one for the culture that might drive bigger ratings than the game itself.

Can’t wait for Super Bowl LVI!
