Love them or hate them, you can’t deny that the New England Patriots and owner Robert Kraft haven’t done their part in global relief efforts.
Yesterday they did it again for Haiti.
Haiti was rocked by a devastating earthquake last weekend. The death toll is now in excess of 2,000.
While relief efforts are ongoing, Kraft and the Patriots loaded up their jet with items such as IV fluid and bags, oxygen masks, surgical supplies, hospital beds, sterilizers, and generators.
They also added, according to TMZ, 2 orthopedic surgeons, 3 physicians, and a nurse to provide aid to the reeling country.
Besides donating his jet, the Krafts supplied drinking water, surgical and N95 masks, and face shields.
Organizing a relief effort is challenging. To do it so quickly speaks volumes of the team and their partners such as Build Health International.
“They’re very accommodating. We reached out and they were able to set up a plane for us almost instantly,” said Chris Rogers, Supply Chain Coordinator for Build Health International.
The plane was loaded on Saturday morning and departed Saturday afternoon. It landed in Miami to add in additional supplies and arrived in Haiti Saturday evening.
The Patriots have aided in relief efforts before.
At the start of the pandemic, Kraft flew the plane to China to pick up and deliver over 1 million N95 masks to Massachusetts. In May, it flew roughly 500,000 COVID vaccines to El Salvador.
